9/11....

No one will ever forget where they were that day. Perry and I were living in Okinawa at the time and actually were locked down for a Typhoon. Before we went to bed, I saw on the news that a plane had hit the WTC. I like many, thought it was a fluke. My mom called me in the middle of the night to say a plane had hit the Pentagon. I thought she was mistaken...it had hit the WTC I said. I went downstairs and turned on the news to find out that everything had changed.......

Every year Johnson Primary and Bitz Intermediate pay tribute to 9/11 by participating in a Freedom Walk. Living in a military community means that you are always aware of what exactly the cost of your freedom is. I sometimes wish that everyone could taste my life just for a second...to see the pride as small children raise a flag and wave it, to hear those same children sing from their hearts our country's national anthem, to hear their strong clear voices recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
