14 years ago, our little family became a little bigger. Perry flew in from an exercise in Qatar; my Momma and I drove back from my parents house after my Grandma Marte's funeral and we prepared to welcome Andrew William. He was due October 10th and I choose to be induced on the 22nd only because I wanted to go to my Grandma's service AND because I knew Perry would be home. His WO at the time, Mac made sure that as soon as the plane landed at March Air Force Base, Perry was in a truck and headed home.
After 8 hours of trying to soften my cervix for labor, my Midwife figured I needed a night of rest and we would try again in the morning..this time with Pitocin. YIKES. At 11 PM, I had my first contraction EVER and proceeded to deliver Drew at 2:53 AM on Wednesday, October 23rd after 53 minutes of pushing. No drugs.....but no one told me that I would need them 14 years later! I have no pictures of Drew's birth...our camera was horrible and the camera operator (my Momma) was so caught up in his birth that not many pictures were taken!
Drew chose to open his gifts the night before his birthday since we were planning on spending the day fishing. We also have a family night at the Putt Putt place planned as soon as the one near us is finished!
His gifts were in the Jeep....
