Since October, Mads has been a member of her school's Beginning Orchestra. Each student got to choose between a Violin, Cello or Viola and our Mads choose the Viola as "her" instrument. She has been practicing twice a week at school and also at home. This evening the Alderman Road Strings, Chorus and assorted K-2 students performed A Bugz Christmas~A Holiday Musical Infestation!
We dropped Mads off at 5:35 in the library to tune up and went right to the auditorium~to be greeted by WALL to WALL people. We wound up standing but with 25 minutes to wait before the program started, we were "lucky" enough to have many, MANY people stand in front of us. TALL people! In retrospect, I think perhaps the school should have either set different nights for the String and Chorus performance from the play OR at least different times! It was CHAOS!
I was able to snake my way up the side walls and sneak some pictures. I was SUPER polite, took my pictures and thanked the people for letting me up there. Sugar will get you EVERYWHERE! :)
Mads and her fellow musicians played the following selections:
Good King Wenceslas
The Dreidal Song
Jingle Bells and
ended with a Mozart Medley
