One word and a dirty one at that......Laundry

If you follow FB...then you know the trials and tribulations with laundry at the Smith house as of late. If you have had the distinct pleasure of being in or actually within 500 feet of our house while the washer and  dryer had been running...I apologize. Our previous dryer was a fire hazard having had a small electrical fire in it, LOUD (a combo of the approx. $20 in change rattling in it AND the irritating high pitched squeaking from the drum) and about three weeks ago...lacking heat of any kind. The washer constantly "walked" and had just recently (LAST weekend~I think it knew!) decided that dumping water all over the floor with every load was totally cool. P and I decided that after the dryer ate one of Mad's shirts, that it was time to acquire a new set.  But we wanted to wait until our tax return came in so we could pay cash for the set. 

In the meantime...this is what I had to do....

Laundry on hangers...it's so totally green.

And I put this set-up through the paces as I ironed EVERYTHING..including towels AND underwear.
FYI~ironing with steam DOES not make towels that air dry less "crunchy".

Seriously.....I love hangers.

Last Friday, Linds and I headed to Sears to make our big purchase. P and I choose Sears based on the washer/dryer ratings AND because we are members of their Appliance Select (our appliances where purchased through Sears by our home builder and we GET the specials!). Our savings came to about 35% off!! We made the purchase and scheduled delivery for the following Monday.

My delivery guys seemed a little put off when I came flying out of the garage with a HUGE smile and said "I am SO happy to see you"!! I honestly think they were put off by my sincere happiness...and might have considered the fact that I might be drugged.

SO close!!

I am very happy to report that "Fred & Ginger" have fit in quite well with the Smith's and are currently quietly and efficiently doing laundry.
