6 weeks and counting......

We have been busy.......very, very busy.

Perry.....is doing well. We have been able to chat a few times and e-mail on a regular basis. We are 6 weeks into our year long deployment and I honestly hope the time will just fly by like it has. It's hard without him and I know it is hard for him to be away from us. At this time we still don't think he will get  R&R but we can and will keep  hoping for those precious 2 weeks!

Gymnastics......Carly will be completing her first year of Gymnastics in a few weeks. She LOVES it and will be returning to Step Ahead next year! She will be taking a tumbling class as well as a regular co-ed gym class. She is just a LITTLE excited!

Baseball......Drew is a Pirate this year. I honestly never thought that Drew would find his love of baseball again. He had some bad experiences in Virginia Beach and had no interest in playing again. Imagine my surprise when he told me he wanted to play! The two years off has really shown in his abilities. He hits better, fields better and is much more enthusiastic about the game. We have been rained out a few games and had a few disappointing games but once again...the kids play for the love of baseball. Oh and the games are GREAT to watch!

Softball......Maddie is a Dodger and is so loving playing. It took some convincing to get her to play this year but the child is a natural athlete. She has the enthusiasm and the ability and I see her going far. Her team is absolutely the best...full of young ladies that love playing together! Her coach is amazing and we feel so lucky to have such a giving person to help mold our daughter. They may not win every game but they play their hearts out and go home happy. What more can you ask for?

Girl Scouts......another scouting year is coming to an end. Maddie has almost completed her last year as a Brownie and is due to bridge to Juniors. This year will be the end of her 5th year of scouting and she has loved every minute. Carly will be completing her first year of Brownies and her second year of Scouting.  She still has 2 years left as a Brownie. At this time, the girls have decided to leave Girl Scouts behind to concentrate on other things. It does break my heart because Scouting is so wonderful and I loved every minute of my Scouting experience (well maybe not EVERY minute but the majority for sure!).  We shall see what becomes of their decision.

Hopefully, this will be the last mega update for a while. I do have more to post but for now...........
