"Why do witches never have babies"? Their husbands have hallow~weenies!
Such is the frame of mind you will find at the Smith house come Halloween...I am a fan of the fun, sweet Halloween. But I know that I am in the minority on that!
The kids had no school on Friday for a teacher work day. I personally think some brilliant person KNEW that come Monday those poor teachers would be a hot mess and needed a quiet class day to amp themselves up for all those sugar laden babies! We spent most of the day sleeping in and lounging around which meant we had to face the crowds on Saturday to get the last of our "errands" run! We managed to score some great deals at Party City and are now the owners of a FOG machine...a sparkly black and purple spider and a big ol' witches cauldron suitable for boiling children or ya know..holding candy for trick or treaters (next year we are totally putting dry ice in it!). Perry made the front of the house look as though the worlds BIGGEST arachnid lives with us and added a black light and red lighting. It was significantly scary and I am BUMMED I didn't get a picture of it.....
After a night of trick or treating (Saturday for us!), we finished the night with a fire in our fire pit and with all our neighbors...well, most of them anyway!
Smith kids in action...Pumpkin action that is!
Could there possibly be a sweeter child?
Mads pumpkin
Purple, Sparkly AND GOOGLY eyes!
Drew's pumpkin.....sarcasm, it runs deep in that child.
Damn arachnid got the Jeep too!
But you know Perry will be washing it next weekend anyway..
Homemade pizza for dinner on Halloween..it's a tradition after all!
Mads as Athena & Carl as a Woodland Fairy
Sunday night we re-grouped, grabbed our goodies and candy and headed to our church for Trunk or Treat, games and yummy food~Lutheran style....a potluck and burgers grilled by the Lutheran Men.
Spooooooky car...to bad we forget the darn spider!
They were born in Japan....can you tell?
She is SO focused if winning is involved!
All the confirmation students ran the games for the other kids as well as setting up and cleaning up. Even though it doesn't show in his face..he did have a good time!
It was a wonderful weekend but whew......I think I am glad that Halloweenie comes only once a year!
Sounds like a great weekend!
